Can I wear a wet suit?
Yes! You can wear a wet suit, a crazy costume, or a good old fashioned swim suit. Just be sure you come prepared with a way to stay warm following your “plunge”!

Does the swim really start at 1:00 PM?
Event day registration will begin at 11:30 AM. The swim will start promptly at 1:00 PM.

How cold will the water be?
Around 40 degrees.

How do I get involved?
You can become a team captain and form a team with your friends and family, join a team, or join as an individual. Everyone is welcome! Your business or organization can get involved by forming a corporate team and/or becoming a sponsor.

How long does the event last?
The swim and awards ceremony should be complete by 2:00 PM.

I want to participate, but I don't want to swim. Do I really have to swim?
Getting your toes wet will count!

I'm a business owner and would like to become a sponsor. What are the sponsor levels?
There are four levels of corporate sponsorship: Iceberg Sponsor: $1,000; Igloo Sponsor: $500; Icicle Sponsor: $250; Snowflake Sponsor: $100.

What incentives can I earn?
Prizes for our 2012 Event have been set! $25 – choice of beanie style hat or puffer penguin; $75 – choice of penguin hat or long-sleeved tee shirt; $150 - choice of sweatshirt or beach towel; $250 - choice of mini corn hole set or trunk organizer; $500 - One prize from each level

What is the minimum amount for a donation?
There is no minimum amount, but we suggest a minimum donation of at least $25 (and that would make you eligible for incentive prizes).

What kind of awards can I win?
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies are awarded to highest fundraising teams and individuals. A NEW division was added for the 2012 event: top fundraising individuals and teams 18 & under as well! Awards are given to the youngest and oldest Penguins. There is a Costume Contest, too, so feel free to be creative!

Where does the swim actually occur?
The swim occurs in the ocean in front of the Princess Royale hotel on 91st street. Event day registration is in the Princess Royale atrium (2nd floor of the hotel) and begins at 11:30 AM.
